UT Professors License Innovative Point-of-Care Diagnostic Device

Most diagnostic devices on the market today are expensive and can take hours or even several days to provide results. Since 2009, Jayne Wu and Shigetoshi Eda have been collaborating to develop a low-cost device that is easy to use, portable, and can detect infectious diseases and pathogens in a matter of minutes.

2016 UTRF Innovation Award Ceremony Honors UT Researchers

The UT Research Foundation (UTRF) recognized dozens of University of Tennessee researchers for their discoveries and commercialization efforts made within the last year at the 2016 Innovation Awards Ceremony, held December 2 in Knoxville.

UTHSC Awarded $500,000 from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce to Fund Innovative Proof-of-Concept Center

The funding will help connect innovative medical researchers and their technologies to business and entrepreneurial expertise via a partnership with Memphis Bioworks. It will also support collaborative efforts with the UT Research Foundation with the goal of offering novel solutions for regional health challenges, and contribute to job creation and economic development in the region and state.
