Finalists in the search for the next chancellor to lead the statewide University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture have been named, and they include one longtime UT administrator and two career higher education leaders. Interviews begin Nov. 30.
The funding will help connect innovative medical researchers and their technologies to business and entrepreneurial expertise via a partnership with Memphis Bioworks. It will also support collaborative efforts with the UT Research Foundation with the goal of offering novel solutions for regional health challenges, and contribute to job creation and economic development in the region and state.
Pending board approval, Davenport will join UT Knoxville on Feb. 15, 2017. Davenport, currently interim president of the University of Cincinnati, will be the first woman to lead the Knoxville campus.
