Knoxville, Tenn. – University of Tennessee System (UT System) President Randy Boyd is hitting the road for a comprehensive high school tour across Tennessee, showcasing the unique opportunities and benefits of higher education within the UT System.
Boyd will be visiting with students and educators at the following high schools, where he will discuss the academic opportunities, student life and financial aid options available within the UT System. He will also provide an in-depth look at the UT System’s five unique campuses, emphasizing that, no matter where a student is in their educational journey, there is a UT campus designed to help them succeed.
“We understand that every student’s journey is different,” Boyd said. “Our goal is to meet students where they are and help them get to where they want to go. No matter what you’re looking for in a college experience, the UT System provides an environment for every kind of student, a location for every Tennessee resident and an education for every mind.”

The UT System offers five undergraduate campuses, each with distinct characteristics:
- UT Knoxville: Home to over 900 programs of study, world-class research and the SEC’s beloved Vols, the flagship university is where a large campus feels like home, sweet home.
- UT Chattanooga: A walkable campus nestled in one of America’s most livable cities, this campus provides a smaller feel with a focus on innovation, real-world experiences and a robust alumni network.
- UT Southern: Ideal for those seeking small class sizes and big opportunities, Pulaski offers a personalized community that creates meaningful connections with professors and peers, paving the way for a strong future with a lasting impact.
- UT Martin: Known for its close-knit community and supportive environment, UT Martin equips future educators, entrepreneurs and agricultural leaders to make a difference.
- UT Health Science Center: The heart of health care in Tennessee, UTHSC’s main campus in Memphis and nearly 900 educational and clinical training sites statewide prepare the next generation of health care providers who will serve across the state.
In addition to its academic offerings, the UT System is working with students to make higher education more affordable. Nearly half of all UT System students graduate debt free, thanks in part to UT Promise, a scholarship program ensuring free tuition and mandatory fees for qualifying Tennessee residents whose adjusted gross household income is below $75,000. By covering the last-dollar amount after other financial aid is applied, UT Promise ensures a college degree is more attainable and accessible for Tennessee families than ever before.
“We recognize the cost of higher education can feel like a barrier for many, but we are committed to breaking down that barrier,” Boyd said. “We are working to ensure that finances don’t stand in the way of students’ dreams, making education more accessible for all Tennesseans.”
