The UT Research Foundation (UTRF) recognized dozens of University of Tennessee researchers for their discoveries and commercialization efforts made within the last year at the 2016 Innovation Awards Ceremony, held December 2 in Knoxville.
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges has officially removed UT Martin from probationary status. The announcement came during the final day of the 2016 SACSCOC Annual Meeting held Dec. 3-6 in Atlanta.
The funding will help connect innovative medical researchers and their technologies to business and entrepreneurial expertise via a partnership with Memphis Bioworks. It will also support collaborative efforts with the UT Research Foundation with the goal of offering novel solutions for regional health challenges, and contribute to job creation and economic development in the region and state.
David Golden, a long-time faculty member and administrator with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has been selected by UT President Joe DiPietro to serve as executive assistant to the president, effective Dec. 1.
