The University of Tennessee experienced its best fundraising year to date in 2017-2018, with more than 64,000 alumni and friends contributing more than $397 million. The total was up more than $176 million from 2016-2017.

“These numbers are a testament to the dedicated donors who believe in the mission of the university, to volunteers who give of their time and talent to advance the mission and to hard-working staff across the Foundation,” said Kerry Witcher, interim president and CEO of the UT Foundation.

This year, the University added two named colleges—one at the UT Institute of Agriculture and UT Chattanooga—to join UT Knoxville’s Tickle College of Engineering and Haslam College of Business, which were named in the past four years.

As part of the record-breaking year, the University’s planned gifts totaled more than $190 million for 2017-2018, which is up from $83 million in fiscal year 2016-2017.
