KNOXVILLE – Keeping up with the latest University of Tennessee news and announcements is as simple as the swipe of a finger with the new mobile app—UT News.

The free app is the first and only platform to aggregate solely UT news updates, feature stories and videos from UT campuses and institutes into a single, on-demand news feed. Users can customize the information received, set push notifications and share stories via social media and email.

“With more than 370,000 alumni, 49,000 students, 11,000 employees and countless donors, friends and supporters engaged with the University, we’re constantly looking for new and effective ways to share information and connect with constituents,” said Tiffany Carpenter, UT associate vice president for communications and marketing. “From breaking news to groundbreaking research, we tell dozens of stories each day. And the new app provides an easy way to get and stay acquainted with the University.”

The app is available for download on iOS (iPhone and iPad) devices, with an Android version coming soon. A download link, information about software requirements, privacy and technical support is available at
