Finalists Announced in Search for the Next UT Knoxville Chancellor

KNOXVILLE – Four uniquely qualified higher education finalists have been selected in the search for the next chancellor of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and they will visit the campus April 16-18.

Finalists will participate in meetings with campus leaders, key faculty, staff and students. The finalists will also participate in campus public forum sessions.

Information regarding the campus public forums are below. All public forum sessions will be held on the UT Knoxville campus and are open to the public.

  • Donde Plowman, executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln

    Open forum: Tuesday, April 16 from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Student Union Auditorium
     

  • Brian Noland, president of East Tennessee State University

    Open forum: Wednesday, April 17 from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Student Union Auditorium
     

  • William Tate, dean of the Graduate School and vice provost for Graduate Education at Washington University (St. Louis)

    Open forum: Thursday, April 18 from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. Student Union Auditorium
     

  • Bill Hardgrave, provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs at Auburn University

    Open forum: Thursday, April 18 from 3 – 4 p.m. Room 101 Strong Hall
     

The forums will be streamed live on the search website for UT faculty, staff and students and will also be archived and available for viewing by the general public at the conclusion of the search. Opportunities to provide feedback will be available on the search website when interviews begin.
