The 1.8 percent undergraduate tuition increase trustees approved is the lowest increase since 1984 and marks three consecutive years of increases at or below 3 percent—a first since the UT system was established in 1968.
The search for the next chancellor of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture began today with the first meeting of the search committee. Nominations are being sought and a timeline has been set to have the new chancellor in place during the first quarter of 2017.
Larry Arrington, UTIA chancellor since 2011, will retire and leave office effective Sept. 1. UT President Joe DiPietro has selected UT Extension Dean Tim Cross to serve as interim chancellor until Arrington’s successor is found. A search is to begin immediately.
Larry Arrington, professor of agricultural education and communication at the University of Florida, will be recommended by UT President Joe DiPietro for election by the UT Board of Trustees as the next chancellor of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture.
