From developing a strapless CPAP device for sleep apnea to using bioluminescent zebrafish as a tool for drug screening, the University of Tennessee Research Foundation’s Maturation Funding program has helped researchers develop technologies with potential for commercial use.
The free app is the first platform to aggregate solely UT news updates, feature stories and videos from UT campuses and institutes into a single news feed.
The funding will help connect innovative medical researchers and their technologies to business and entrepreneurial expertise via a partnership with Memphis Bioworks. It will also support collaborative efforts with the UT Research Foundation with the goal of offering novel solutions for regional health challenges, and contribute to job creation and economic development in the region and state.
About 150 representatives from universities, industry, and federal agencies, along with elected officials, attended Monday’s Southeast Regional Energy Innovation Workshop in Chattanooga, a forum to advance clean energy technology innovation in the region.
