KNOXVILLE — Brentwood businessman Dan Brown has been elected to serve as the 2009-2010 president of the more than 300,000-member University of Tennessee Alumni Association.
Brown succeeds Knoxville attorney Ford Little, who will serve as national chair of annual giving.
“Ford Little tirelessly advocated for the University and invigorated the UT Alumni Association with his passion for his alma mater,” said Lofton Stuart, executive director for the UTAA. “We look forward to working with Dan Brown and also benefitting from his commitment to the University of Tennessee.”
Brown, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration at UT Knoxville, is president of Two Point Inc. He has been a member of the Williamson County alumni chapter since 1999 and a member of the UTAA Board of Governors since 2005. He and his wife, Linda, have two children who attended UT Knoxville, and their grandson is a current student.
Mike Moss, of Cordova, Tenn., is president-elect and received a bachelor’s degree in education from UT Martin and a doctorate in education from UT Knoxville. He has served as president of the Memphis/Shelby County alumni chapter and the UTAA Board of Governors.
Other new officers are Kim Cross, Marietta, Ga., vice president and Steve Kennedy, Lansdale, Pa., treasurer.
The UTAA represents alumni from the entire UT System including campuses at Knoxville, Chattanooga and Martin; the Health Science Center in Memphis; and the Space Institute in Tullahoma.
Officers lead the UTAA’s efforts throughout the country to engage alumni and encourage involvement with the University. The group’s mission is to represent its members, augment university resources, strengthen faculty, and encourage excellence in teaching, research and service.
