If you’ve missed past opportunities to take advantage of the University of Tennessee’s long-term disability insurance benefit for employees, you have another one now. Thanks to Prudential Insurance recently becoming a provider option for UT employees, voluntary enrollment in the Prudential Income Protection Plan is available for the next 30 days—outside traditional open enrollment periods for benefits each fall.
This voluntary long-term disability benefit protects enrollees from financial risks that may come if you are too sick or injured to work. Employees are encouraged to consider this benefit option as a part of their overall needs to plan for their financial security in the event of long-term disability.
During this 30-day enrollment opportunity that begins today, Jan. 15, and continues through Feb. 15:
Plan rates have been reduced 5 percent
You can enroll for or increase coverage by one level without being required to provide proof of good health satisfactory to Prudential
Learn more about the plan, what it offers, what you’re eligible for, and sign up at http://humanresources.tennessee.edu/benefits/ltd/index.html, or by contacting Heath Hildreth at hhildreth@hildrethins.com or 800-874-0831, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. eastern time, Monday through Friday.
