New Products, Discounts and Giveaways Available Through the UT Market Place

Office of the Treasurer

If you haven’t used UT’s new e-procurement system yet, now is the time.

The UT Market Place allows departments to order office supplies, computers, scientific equipment and airline tickets from 24 vendors using a single sign-in and shopping cart—and soon will be the only way to receive UT’s negotiated pricing with Staples, Fisher and other vendors.

Certain departments may still need to contact suppliers directly for specialized items. However, placing orders through the UT Market Place better enables UT to analyze items purchased and negotiate additional discounts.

Special pricing on Apple, Dell and PCS computers currently is available for an upgrade program underway at UT Knoxville. By placing orders through the UT Market Place, all UT campuses and institutes are eligible to take advantage of the savings.

Southwest Airlines and Delta also offer discounted pricing. To book a flight with either airline, a personal credit card is required and reimbursement is subject to UT’s travel policy. As a reminder, first- and business-class tickets will not be reimbursed.

More than 9,000 orders have been placed since the UT Market Place launched in July. Delta is offering two free tickets to anywhere in the 48 contiguous states to the person who completes the 20,000th transaction.

To access the UT Market Place for work-related purchases, follow these steps:

All employees are able to sign in and place needed supplies in a shopping cart, but only those approved to make departmental purchases can complete orders.
