KNOXVILLE—The University of Tennessee System will welcome four new locations—a pharmacy, a cotton company and two family-owned farms—to its statewide “Everywhere You Look, UT” mural campaign in April.
Beginning in Obion County on April 3 and ending April 25 in Giles County, the latest stint of paintings will bring the UT System to a total of 39 murals and four steps closer to its goal of painting a mural in each of Tennessee’s 95 counties by 2030.
The murals will be added as follows:
- Kenton Drug Company in Kenton (Obion County), April 3
- Nunn Cotton Company in Brownsville (Haywood County), April 6
- Harlan Farm in Columbia (Maury County), April 17
- Friendship Acres Farm in Pulaski (Giles County), April 22
“The mural campaign is a fun and effective way of spreading the message of UT’s presence and impact across the state,” UT System President Randy Boyd said. “Our hope is that each mural generates conversation among community members about the opportunities that exist at UT and encourages more Tennesseans to engage with the University.”
Once completed, the four new murals will be seen by an estimated 3,600 travelers a day and increase visibility of the statewide campaign to more than 343,000 travelers a day.
