UT Supercomputer Kraken Officially Up and Running
Kraken, the University of Tennessee’s supercomputer, has passed its early testing and has officially been accepted to begin its designated scientific mission. UT Announces Petersen Stepping Down, Simek Named Acting President
University of Tennessee President John Petersen and Trustee Vice Chairman Jim Murphy jointly announced today that Petersen will resign as president, effective June 30, 2009, and that Dr. Jan Simek, most recently the interim chancellor for UT Knoxville, will be recommended to the Board to fill the post for up to two years.
