The center is the result of collaboration between the Tennessee Departments of Transportation and Tourist Development, as well as the University of Tennessee, which oversees the 5-megawatt, 25-acre West Tennessee Solar Farm surrounding the building.
For 50 years, the University of Tennessee — made up of many parts — has moved with one voice for the good of its students, faculty, alumni and state. On July 1, 1968, the parts became one as a system.
In this role, Fulmer will serve as an ambassador for the University system, support intercollegiate athletic programs in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Martin, and work with UT government relations and alumni affairs leadership to advocate for UT statewide.
The Center for Addiction Science was founded to address the untreated addiction epidemic, providing clinical treatment services across all demographics. The center is also training physicians to offer alternate forms of pain therapy to avoid over-prescription of opioids.
In two years, the DRIVE! for the Future initiative has helped draw $3.9 billion in new automotive capital investment to the 69-county Tennessee Valley region.
