The University of Tennessee Research Foundation (UTRF) celebrated the researchers whose achievements made 2018 a record-breaking year at the annual Innovation Awards ceremonies, held December 4 in Memphis and December 5 in Knoxville.
Capping off a centennial year in which Tennessee Alumnus was redesigned and told the stories of the University of Tennessee’s history, milestones and its most accomplished alumni of the last century, the magazine took home top honors at the Council for the Advancement of Education (CASE) District III awards in Atlanta.
The award began in 1973 and as of Friday’s presentation, it has gone to a total of 90 recipients who include ORNL lab directors, scientists, and distinguished statesmen such as Howard Baker and Al Gore. Millhorn won the award for his leadership with both UT and ORNL.
Integrated communications in support of the University’s “2017 My Campus Student Experience Survey” took top honors at the 2017 V Awards presented by the Volunteer Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
A video capturing the statewide but united nature of the UT system, took top honors at the 2017 Tennessee College Public Relations Association Awards.
