From making significant changes in the world of medicine to helping underprivileged people across the globe, the 2019 UT President’s Award winners represent the impact the University has on the state and beyond.
Boyd’s speech begins at 1 p.m. CST/2 p.m. EST before an audience of UT leaders and dignitaries in downtown Nashville and will be webcast live.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee presented his 2019-20 budget recommendations, including more than $643.8 million in appropriations for the University of Tennessee, to the General Assembly during his State of the State address in Nashville Monday night.
“We all recognize the world is changing. There is transformation that could be coming to education,” UT Board Chair John Compton said. “That is what we should be considering in our meetings.”
UT Interim President Randy Boyd announced the search committee in November. Hiring a new chancellor is one of his six outlined priorities. UT will use a search firm in partnership with its own executive recruitment team to identify candidates for the position.
