For a record-setting fifth year in a row, the University of Tennessee System Board of Trustees voted to keep tuition increases low. Trustees also approved developing stronger links between the UT Institute of Agriculture and UT Knoxville to increase collaboration between the two and to raise UT’s national rankings.

The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will be considering a record fifth year of low tuition increases when it meets on June 21.
Interim President Randy Boyd has announced the creation of “UT Promise,” a transformative scholarship that will provide free tuition to qualifying Tennessee residents enrolling at UT campuses located in Knoxville, Chattanooga and Martin.
“We all recognize the world is changing. There is transformation that could be coming to education,” UT Board Chair John Compton said. “That is what we should be considering in our meetings.”
