KNOXVILLE – The University of Tennessee has launched the search for the next chancellor for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
UT Interim President Randy Boyd announced the search committee in November. Hiring a new chancellor is one of his six outlined priorities.
“One of the most important responsibilities I have as UT’s interim president is to hire the best possible person to lead our flagship campus in Knoxville,” Boyd said. “Specifically, we are looking for demonstrated visionary leadership, continued development of academic programs, a research mindset and a national reputation for excellence in higher education. Most importantly, we’re looking for an individual who incorporates a ‘students first’ culture in everything they do, and combines this trait with an “One UT” mentality – the idea that they are a key component of our broader team, and that championing collaboration is paramount to the university’s success.”
A search website has been established that provides a complete job description and outlines the qualities and characteristics for the next leader of UT Knoxville. UT will use the search firm Witt/Kieffer in partnership with its own executive recruitment team to identify candidates for the position. Witt/Kieffer has 50 years of experience in placing high-level executives in the fields of higher education, health care, non-profits and others. Once finalists are selected, UT will make a broad announcement and post their resumes to the search website.
Interested individuals should apply using the search website.
