For a record-setting fifth year in a row, the University of Tennessee System Board of Trustees voted to keep tuition increases low. Trustees also approved developing stronger links between the UT Institute of Agriculture and UT Knoxville to increase collaboration between the two and to raise UT’s national rankings.

The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will be considering a record fifth year of low tuition increases when it meets on June 21.
In addition to approving her hire, trustees also approved her compensation package and tenure in a faculty appointment in the department of management. Plowman’s first day at UT Knoxville will be July 1.
In June, the University will seek approval from the Board of Trustees to file a cy pres court action to permit the sale of the property. If approved, proceeds from the sale will be directed to establish an endowment to fund scholarships for lower income students.
