On Tuesday, Nov. 22 a federal district court issued a nationwide injunction halting implementation of revisions to Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulations. Because of the injunction, those rules will not go into effect as expected on Dec. 1.
Finalists in the search for the next chancellor to lead the statewide University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture have been named, and they include one longtime UT administrator and two career higher education leaders. Interviews begin Nov. 30.
The funding will help connect innovative medical researchers and their technologies to business and entrepreneurial expertise via a partnership with Memphis Bioworks. Pending board approval, Davenport will join UT Knoxville on Feb. 15, 2017. Davenport, currently interim president of the University of Cincinnati, will be the first woman to lead the Knoxville campus.
