The Tennessee General Assembly passed a FY21-22 state budget Thursday that includes an $8 million investment in the University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute.
Joan Bienvenue has been selected as the first executive director of the Oak Ridge Institute at the University of Tennessee.
Since 2018, the UT trustees, who were all new to the Board, have taken a series of deliberate steps to build the Board from the ground up employing best practices in governance.
“We are thankful to the DOE for its support of this program that will deliver a top-tier interdisciplinary workforce talent in emerging fields for industry, government and academia,” UT President Randy Boyd said.
The One Health concept is a global effort that transcends political boundaries, recognizing that the health of humans is connected to the health of animals and the environment.
