State Approves $8M for UT-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute
The Tennessee General Assembly passed a FY21-22 state budget Thursday that includes an $8 million investment in the University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute.
The Tennessee General Assembly passed a FY21-22 state budget Thursday that includes an $8 million investment in the University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge Innovation Institute.
“We are thankful to the DOE for its support of this program that will deliver a top-tier interdisciplinary workforce talent in emerging fields for industry, government and academia,” UT President Randy Boyd said.
Volkswagen Group of America, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee today announced a collaboration, to create Volkswagen’s first innovation hub in North America at the UT Research Park at Cherokee Farm.
The search committee, chaired by Keith Carver, chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Martin, will officially launch the search in January with hopes to name a chancellor in May.
Thomas Zacharia, who built Oak Ridge National Laboratory into a global supercomputing power, has been selected as the laboratory’s next director by UT-Battelle.
