UT Prepares for Returning Students Amidst COVID-19

UT System President Randy Boyd is urging students, faculty and staff to talk with their families and healthcare providers about the benefits of receiving the COVID-19 vaccination.
Linda C. Martin has agreed to serve on an interim basis following the Aug. 31 retirement of Tim Cross. The university will launch a search this fall to fill the role permanently.
The newly adopted rule requires vaccinations for measles, mumps and rubella, chicken pox, meningococcal disease and hepatitis B, but does not mandate vaccinations for influenza or COVID-19.
This virtual meeting’s agenda items include a student immunization rule and the UT Knoxville Student Code of Conduct.
UT’s contributions were recently recognized by AUTM’s Better World Project, which named the UT Research Foundation as its 2020 Legend Award honoree.
